It depends on your definition of airworthy.
Some of those 50ish aircraft havn't flown for over ten years.
Do you mean press the starter and go today, next week, after the repair, after winter maintenance, after the crash write off rebuild, after I get her re-certified?
Since the end of the Battle of Britain filming in 1968, 63 Spitfires world wide have had an air gap under all three tyres whilst under their own propulsion.
