As an immigrant to the US myself (from the UK) I agree very strongly with Tulio. I would love to see XH588 fly again, as I am sure he would too. I would, at the very least, want to see her maintained in the healthy condition she is in today. However, to rant that it's all, or in part, because of immigrants is wholly unfair, and demolishes your argument. For people to listen to you, you have to argue with reason, not with anger. If you lose your temper and rant, people will dismiss you, regardless of the cause. While I agree that unrestricted immigration is not reasonable or sensible, it is undeniable that when organized in a reasonable manner it further strengthens our nations, both from the intense work ethic of most immigrants, their often vibrant culture, and the new ideas they bring with them.
As another point, while I have a whole-hearted commmitment to and love of aviation, and aviation heritage, I cannot argue that there aren't more important things to worry about. People should come first each and every time... if there is money to spend on the finer things in life, great, but if not, then we need to accept it and move on. These are incredibly difficult times, economically, and otherwise, so it is not difficult to understand that there isn't money for everything. I still have high hopes that something will be done to help the Vulcan flight continue, but can you honestly say that seeing her fly again for another five years (her fatigue life estimate) is worth 5,000 or so people not having a hot meal, or a roof over their heads?
