SPITFIRES!

Posted by Troy Kirkby on Mon Nov 11, 2002 07:16:23 PM

Good evening all,

I have a special request to make. As some of you may know my research and interest lies primarily with post WW2 RCAF Lancasters, however most are not aware that I am opening a pub with a Commonwealth military aviation theme...appropriately called "The Spitfire Arms". The pub is located in Windsor, Nova Scotia, Canada (also the birthplace of ice hockey - 1800, home to the oldest private school in the Dominion - 1780's, and we're just a stones throw away from the oldest, original wooden military structure in North America - The Blockhouse circa 1750).

On to my request - I'd like to hear from ANYONE who would be willing to make a trip to their local flying or static Spitfire and pose for a picture with a greeting for my pub. It would be greatly appreciated if you can send any technical info about the Spit(s) in your pic(s). I can email the "CHEERS" sign as a word document and will gladly accept paper prints via post or digicam files. You, and whoever else poses with you, will then be put up on display for our GRAND OPENING in January 2003!

I'm all about asking others for assistance because I do the same when asked myself. Can anyone assist? Please drop by my website and have a look!

Cheers,
Troy Kirkby, Publican

PS - there is a free pint to anyone who helps out...just in case you happen to be in this part of the world at any time in future.
