Although technically designated a Mk.I, AR213 is a Westlands built Spitfire and, from the data plate, the 2nd machine that they produced under license. It was well behind schedule being delivered to the RAF in July 1941 straight to 57 OTU rather than a squadron. At this time Castle Bromwich were well into Mk.V production. Two blade propellor - hardly! A three blade prop and an external armoured windscreen, as early Mk V - yes please.
