What's the life expectancy of a an large airframe stored outdoors in the UK today?
Not sure what kind of preservation the outdoor exhibits get at Duxford or Cosford so I can't speculate. I can't see the the VC-10 or Trident even being stored under cover so it is only a matter of time as the elements and time take their toll on those airframes.
You would think that at least one example of each significant aircraft should be stored under cover somewhere
in the UK. So a Victor and Shack and Hasting all deserve a roof to retire under!
