Hi All,
Remember the several topics on this board (and WWW/VA) about the B-17 which was raised from Lake Zug in Switzerland and was scrapped during the seventies.
I visited the museum of our collegues CRASH at Lisserbroek and there on display are two complete engines with cowlings, a stripped third. various parts of the engine-mounting, firewall etc. the throttle console with a pilot's seat and a section of fuselage-skinning bearing the name
"Lonesome Polecat" (I wonder how many aircraft were christened with the same name during the war). The condition is excellent considering that they were recovered after a decade underwater.
Just in case you wanted to know.
Cheers
Cees
