And a question regarding the F9F

My previous post stirred my memory regarding another F9F, that being the one restored by the Whittington brothers. If I recall it dissappeard with no trace on the return flight to Florida from California. I'm rough estimating this was ten or so years ago. Does anyone know if the wreckage was ever located?
