Roll out of restored NA 16-4M for Flygvapenmuseum

Posted by Mikael Olrog on Mon Oct 28, 2002 03:41:48 PM

Last tuesday the SK 14 (RSwAF designation) was rolled out from the hangar at Tullinge Airfield (F18) just south of Stockholm.

The aircraft is a recreation of the SK 14 (North American NA 16-4M) which was bought by Sweden before the war. Unfortunately no example was preserved so Flygvapenmuseum decided to recreate an example by merging sections from a Canadian built NA-64 Yale and a Australian built NA-32 Wirraway and adding some preserved original parts.

The restoration team have made a trip to Honduras to examine the NA-42 preserved there which is the model which have most in common with the Swedish example. During the restoration the team have used drawings sourced in Japan.

For photos of the roll-out see:

If you scroll down on the second link you'll also see some photos of the Sole Heinkel HD 35 under restoration by the same team.
