Paul,
I still have to respond to Christer's posting yesterday on this an other matters. I am just reconfirming the up to date range of costs for Merlin/Griffon overhaul and what a propeller assembly, ready to install, is going to set you back.
I was not talking 'rocket science'with the project management techniques just basic stuff. As we have discussed off line, my 'proper job' before retirement was chief engineer/project manager at the 'intersting' end of the niche vehicle industry. I just started to apply the tools available to Spitfire and Me109 production for friends in the Warbird Industry. The use of Microsoft Project software to prepare the budget and timing estimates. Truly indentifying ALL the tasks. Scheduling materials and human resource in a controlled and structered manner to balance the flow of work. And fundamentally - using the Project Plan to drive the Project and adjusting it accordingly. Sounds simple - employing a Project Manager. Although the numbers that this work can generate may well frighten some customers away, for others it will give the confidence that there is technical and financial control and it is visible.
