That pile of aircraft wreckage is actually a very moving centre piece exhibit at the principal military museum in Hanoi. It comprises selected pieces of both US and French crash remains. I was giving it a little poke earlier this year hoping to spot perhaps a few bits of French Air Force Spitfire IX or even an Aeronavale Seafire III, but no such luck!
