Hi All,
Just a couple of points that I would like peoples views on.
We all use this board because of a love/interest of Warbirds but just how many of the Wardbirds that exist are actually Warbirds, that is, have a combat history?
For example Spitfire MH434 was flown on combat missions and if I remember correctly, even has "kills" to its name, but how many other airframes exist, that have been flown on combat missions.....
The second point is how much of an airframe or components have to exist, to be for that airframe to be clasified as a survivor.
To take this point to its extreme, if I purchased the stick and gun button (I haven't) from a Hurricane at an Aerojumble, with a provenance that could be proven. but nothing else was known to exist, would that particular airframe be clasified as a survivor.
Opinions!
Tony
