Wes Stricker, Lee Maples, Brad Eppel and David Gouldsmith were the group that funded and recovered the Myanmar (Burmese) aicraft cache in 1999. David Gouldsmith of Golden Aviation, Cassville, Missouri was the 'hands on' facilitator.
The Spitfire IXs went to Cassville and the the Seafire XV to Lee Maple's facility at Rolla, Missouri. It was subsequently transferred to Columbia, Missouri in October 2001. Whilst all these aircraft have been for sale including the Seafire XV, Wes Stricker has recently advised that he is exploring the possibilities of initiating restoration of the Seafire XV for himself based at Colombia.
The Russian P40 in the mean time is now the princpal project of Brad Eppel having been traded for the Spitfire UB441/ML119 now in the UK.
For the record Spitfires UB424/PV270 (painted as "UB425") is now with Brendon Deere in New Zealand and UB425 (painted as "UB424") is now in the UK with Historic Flying. The RAF serial for the latter still eludes us all but would appear to be 20-42 of the Israeli Air force due to the photo-recce conversion.
