Hi again All,
I think I rather like the term "Full Scale Model". A model, after all is made of new materials. If it does indeed become that. I am heartened by Tim's remark that Mr. Roush is building a P-51 B. This in all likelihood is the plane which will carry Dean's serial number, and some piece of his plane. We have discussed donating the rudder pedal to be included, but we must first see what their plans are.
I have been told that Mr. Roush is interested in the history of the airplane, and the cause of the crash....Which although greatly speculated about has never been accurately determined.
I have been given the address I need, to contact Mr. Roush, concerning his plans for the plane. From what I have been told my family will be kept informed of the process.
I truly didn't mean to sound quite so negative about the possibility of the plane carrying a different paint scheme. At this point I have no reason to believe this is a given. My biggest concern was that she remain a P-51 B. From what Tim said, that now seems very possible.
One more question, if I may.....Does anyone have any idea how long it takes to build a P-51? I'm just curious what kind of a time frame we are looking at. Thank you all for your answers, I do truly appreciate them!
Best Wishes,
Karen
