Point taken.
In the UK, we have a tradition of the "ruling classes" going to the scene of a tragedy, as soon as is humanly possible. I appreciate, with the sheer size of the US, and GW's position, as the leader of the most powerful nation on earth, does carry an extreme and heavy responsibility.
My comments were made, at a time of extreme anger, shock and disbelief, at the sheer scale and unfairness of it all.
It feels very strange right now, almost as if the world is holding its collective breath, waiting for the next move.
As a member of Britsh Forces reserves, I really am holding my breath right now, and wondering if we are going to be deployed to our war role in the next 72 hours.
Personally, I hope not, but if I have to go, then I know it's for a damn good reason, and the rest of the guys in my unit feel the same way. We want to get at the animals behind this, something we haven't been allowed to do, with our own domestic terrorism problems.
If GW is indeed asking for an all out war, to be declared on terrorists anywhere, will he also pass legislation to stop American citizens funding the IRA? New York and Boston have been the source of major funding in the past.
Will world leaders after this outrage, finally say "Enough" now the gloves are off...
We shall see.
Best regards
