: Unfortunatly, I can confirm that the Hellcat was scrapped, as nobody had an interest in it. It lingered on till the early 80ties, and then it was scrapped. However some parts, as the armament and cockpit instrument panel are/were on show in the local Guardia Civil police station. the same fate happened to a Luftwaffe JU-88 that in the early 80ties was brought ashore by a fishing ship in the harbour of Blanes. It was dumped in the harour, and scrapped five years later. My father safed some parts which I still have. Little is known on a B-17F (I thought it was an f) that was inpounded in Spain during the war and of which a large part, if not the entire fuselage, was used on a Spanish farm as a shed/chicken coop. It was still there in the late 70ties, but as the location mentioned "somewhere near Sevilla" I still haven't found it, nor do I know if it is still there anyway!

Does anyone has more info on the German HE-111 that was mentioned to have been found in Spain (AM report last year). All my Spanish sources haven't found a trace of it.
