East Kirkby Hampdens

Hi Cees,
I have just received my photo's back and I have taken images of two Hampden airframes at East Kirkby.

The first (AE436) consists of a seat (presumably the pilot's), the remains of what looks like the nose section forward of the Canapy frame and the tail section with at least one fin and if I remember correctly, there are also smaller other items, on display.

The second is the 'frame in the Hampden Workshop and consists of the Cockpit and nose section and looks like all new metal. I suppose that the instrument panel which started the earlier thread could be in this frame, but that area is/was covered by a blue sheet. Unfortunately, I did not make note of the serial number but as mentioned elsewhere, this appears to the rebuild that has stopped due to the death of the gentleman carrying out the work.

If you are interested, I will try and scan the images later, and then send them to you. Sorry, I do not know have to post images to the board, from my own computer.

Speak to you later,

Tony
