A short follow-up to my post earlier this week concerning this GM Avenger.
This aircraft was owned by E.H. "Holly" Fletcher of Troutdale, OR. He operated Aero Flight Inc. which utilized
A-26s for fire bombing, and TBMs and 2 A-24s (now with Jack Erickson and USMC Museum)for spraying. This particular Avenger was lost in a crash into Saw Tooth Lake in SW Montana below Missoula. I haven't got the date pinned down yet, but the time frame is early 60s to early 70s. The TBM rests in 40' of water and has been dived on twice by the late owners neice and nephew. They report the aircraft is fairly intact and well know to the local population. They have a number of underwater photos taken of the wreck. I will try to get copies and make them available to interested parties. The mystery here is that I can find no evidence of this aircraft being on the civil register and according to other posts there is no crash report. Anyone who can shed light on this please do so.
