Currently trying to get through some of the red tape that is involved in locate records of a missing RAF pilot here in Canada. I have, with the help of another Hurricane researcher, located all the crash records and BCATP accident investigation papers concerning Sgt H.K. Green and his fatal crash in May of 1943 in Quebec.
I have contacted the PMA for RAF personal records only to be told they cannot be opened unless I find relatives. Simply put - impossible as I have no birth date etc to go on! In light of the recovery of the Cdn Airmen underway in Holland I understand some department of the RAF/MOD was overseeing the matter of the project. Any idea on who at the MOD deals with missing airmen abroad and looks over such matters.
Looking into the Cdn side of things though I would like to have Sgt Green records openned to see if any further records concerning his accident are held in his file. The CWarGraves Comm office here in Canada sent me his last known address in London England along with his mother and fathers name. Would really like to find any family though that is next to impossible.

Any hints???
