Hi all,
Just picked up a copy of a German magazine called Flugzeug Classic and it had some very interesting articles
For instance:
Photo's on the progress (or lack of it because of lack of funding) of the FW 189, a new built Yak 3U which has been bought by a German collector.
An article about the thirteen engines recovered in 2001 from Frankfurt Airport (yes, that story) and the best thing is that there were photographs showing the recovery of the engines.
So, 13 engines have bee recovered consisting of 2 DB601, 2 DB603, 1 DB605, 7 Jumo 213 and 1 BMW 801. Photo's show the engines in very good condition but not crated but some had their transport stands still fitted. Bl**dy interesting read (sorry Scott)
Oh en Mikael,
There was also a photograph of the nosesection of the Casa 2-111 attached to the control tower of a Spanish airfield. According to the article it is not Spanish built actually but of German origin. Source of the article is Peter Cohausz.
Cheers
Cees
