P8332 was considered to be the only presentation Spitfire extant. However with the reconstruction of the crashed BL370 in the UK, and now on display at the D-Day Museum in New Orleans since June 2000, we have two. BL370 being "Gurgaon II Punjab".
With the launch of the Spitfire International book by Air Britain, Henry Boot in conjunction with Ray Sturtivant are well advanced on the next book, Presentation Aircraft, which will be principally Spitfires.
: Hello all,
:
: I have a question about presentation Spitfires, or at leas
: t one specifically.
:
: I was visiting the website of the Canada Aviation Museum i
: n Ottawa, and noticed that the Spitfire II in their collec
: tion, P8332, is a presentation Spitfire, Soebang (N.E.I.),
: presented by the Netherlands East Indies. The site says
: that this is the last surviving presentation Spitfire.
:
: I found one website that lists all presentation Spitfires
: by serial, but does not discuss their fate. Can anyone co
: nfirm that this is the last presentation Spitfire, or sugg
: est where I can look to find out?

: Thanks,
