Peter,

The blind flying panel is a standard item in all RAF cockpits from the mid thirties til the late forties or begin fifties.

The blind flying panels also has a common stores ref nr. The mountings of the panel I do have and as you correctly state are standing proud of the panel. Nobody would like to see blurred instruments at night while dodging nightfighter I guess. I do have a set of mountings but the brackets they are fitted to on the main panel are still unclear to me. I do have a set intended for the Spitfire but the top bracket (a casting) is too high, perhaps it can be adapted. I do have a drawing I made of the lower brackets when I spotted them in a AP while at the PRO, Kew,
