Halifax Instrument Panel

Hi all,

A "lurker" reporting here! I have just got back from holiday and am catching-up on the board. I am definitely what you'd class as a lurker not because I don't want to post it is just that I can rarely constructively add anything further.
I also follow the 57rescue-forum daily and occasionally the flypast one. (I prefer this and 57 as they load much quicker and the threads are easier to follow. Flypast has too much flashy stuff hung on it). (As they are quicker they are easier to browse at "coffee-break").

My main interest is the bomber command stuff and coming from York U.K (the centres of 4 & 6 group) you can tell which heavy I have a passion for.

Back to the plot:

There was a thread from Cees Broere about a panel from MZ465 of 51 Sqn. in the AWM.

This is the story, as I know it:

The panel is from LV722 of 158 Sqn. Lisset. (NP-E). It sustained battle damage on a raid to Trappes 3/1/1944 and was written off. (It is an early Mk111, and according to The Halifax file it had only been delivered on 2/1, so that cannot be right surely)! I don't know how it came to be with the AWM or what the Aussie connection is; perhaps it had an Aussie crew.

Regards,

Paul.
