The main reason, I believe, that this scheme was chosen in the first place was that it is very colourful. It stretches almost the full length of the aircraft and is very eye catching. And, it's very historically accurate for this type of aircraft.
It's a shame that machines like this, used to fight for freedoms and civil liberties, now are being hounded by right wingers who feel that they are inappropriate. It strikes me personally as somewhat ironic that these machines, flown by brave young men fighting for YOUR right of freedom and self expression, are now condemned by those like you perverting those rights for their own narrow, self centered interests.
Perhaps you'd be happier in some place like Iran, where women are covered head to toe and religion is the bse of every law and act. I guess freedom of speech or expression is OK, as long as it's in agreement with what YOU think.
