I have seen firsthand the same thing, many years ago, at the then still called Confederate Air Force.

Some funny stories that we wanted to publish in our internal newsletter were shot down, because of what other people could think or the way they could feel, without regard to the fact that they were not true, they were funny, they were not offensive, but it took only the opinion of one person, that responsible for the publishing of the newsletter, to shoot it down. What was I saying? That during one flight we did to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the landing on the Moon, one of our co-pilots was wearing an oxygen mask, connected to a six-pack. They said that the FAA would look at this with alarm, although it was an internal joke that would have been understood by those in the know.

You must understand that some of the "new" people coming to these organizations, have been formed in mostly liberal universities, and have been imbued with the biases so common to those who teach them their particular point of view.

I would appreciate more a correct scheme than a politically correct one, since you cannot change history, although many attempt to do so on a regular basis.

Those who "just want to belong" or "go along to get along" are part of the problem.

I would encourage the Collings Foundation to stay their course, and keep things as they were, not as people would like them to be.

Saludos!
