If anyone is planning a 'downunder' holiday next year and is looking for an aviation event to build their trip around (look dear....there seems to be an airshow in town this weekend - what a coincidence....!), now might be a good time to mention Classic Fighters, Marlborough, which will be taking place over the Easter weekend. Anyone who attended the inaugural airshow (built on a successful biennial fly-in) can attest to the unique line-up and the equally unique nature of the show. Photographs from the previous event found on the show site give an indication of the variety of aircraft attending (from three countries last time - more next time). The WW-I sequence was especially popular however the line-up for next year will include at least a dozen full scale WW-I aircraft, including an airfield attack by a Jasta of FIVE Fokker Triplanes all in accurate colours (and for the record, no red ones!). The WW-II sequence will be just as impressive, with some major surprises planned. Anyway, take a look at the site and it will give you a pretty good idea of what to expect.
Cheers,
