The BBMF were positioned in Jersey for the annual (Free) International Air Show which is held every September. All I had to do was arrange with their ADC for them to depart for the UK at the correct time for the Flypast, which they were happy to do.
It was interesting to note that the Lanc acts as escort for the two single engined aircraft dring the crossing of the Channel, in case something goes wrong in transit. A slight reversal of their wartime roles !!!
