Actually, I believe they seperate them into incident's and accidents. I am not sure "crash" is in an official description. If I recall, and I don't guarantee that I recall correctly, an accident requires substantial damage that effects the structural strength or flight characteristics. This may or may not qualify based on the damage done.
I don't think Chuck meant anything by calling it a "crash", he is an experienced tailwheel pilot (as is Joe.) I was simply pointing out that it is a matter of semantics and perspective- Joe said that no pilot would consider a groudloop a crash, and I believe it depends on the circumstances and the damage done.
