Wrecks in Afghanistan

Several eons ago, there was a thread about a certain aircraft wreck seen in a TV broadcast from/about Afghanistan. If I remember correctly, there was some discussion as to whether it was a Mil-24 or a B-24.
A few weeks ago I was at Baghram, took some photos of the wrecks which litter the field and was given others from some of the troops. A selection are now posted at

Nothing from WW2, but colourful nonetheless. Recovery prospects are low. Apart from financial considerations, Baghram is estimated to be covered with 160,000 landmines, and the rest of the country is not any better off.
