Hi all, long time no speak to!
I think to some extent the warbird movement has gone underground in most countries. More and more we are seeing reports from people that are like "we have found something significant- I'll let you know what, when it's recovered". I've been waiting for the fuss over my little project to die down, which is why I've been quiet for a while, but I'll start causing a few people sleepless nights in the near future; we students are easily bored!
The problem we all face is when some politician realises how much some wrecks are worth to us. I mean, if we came across, say, an intact Hallifax in the Middle East, and got all the permits, you can guarante there would be someone stop you and wait for a handout. They realise that we value our heritage, and the more we fight for it, the more they think it's worth.
By the time this unfortunate trend dies out, the historic stuff will be long gone.
I hate ending on a pessimistic note... I guess I need a coffee.
