I've heard this Sea Hornet wreck discussed before and seen a photo (substantial!) and I seem to recall that opinion was that it had been buried. ISTR that the location was the Chichester area. Suggest that your 'Plymouth' memory should be 'Portsmouth'?

I think (perhaps wrongly) of the Hornet as being heavily influenced by Mosquito design experience and using the same type of construction, so if anyone wants to build a good replica, doesn't that imply making a pair of massive moulds for a fuselage?
