This is great news, to all warbird fans, who have an ongoing interest for the P-51/ TF-51 pursuit or fighter-trainer aircraft !
Led by our enthusiasm, we have decided to continue "to do what we can do best" in that we are building brand new structures for yet another great warbird, the P51/TF-51 Mustang. Flug Werk GmbH has already proven its capacities and abilities to reconstruct a complete aircraft type, which was otherwise almost extinct, such as with the Fw 190 - at very affordable prices. We are ( currently ) offering structural assemblies like complete wings, which will be followed by empennages and fuselages in the near future. All assemblies can be ordered individually in order to enable restorations to be performed on existing/original airframes. The Flug Werk structures conform to all specifications as laid down by the former manufacturer of this extremely popular warbird. Western materials, complying with all US airworthiness standards, are used throughout the construction of the airframe components.
The first set of new wings is available within 18 month, approximately at the end of 2003. They are ready to be mounted to an existing fuselage, or can be combined with the new production fuselages/empennages right out of Flug Werk production.
We would like to let the future clients to decide if the fuselages will be P-51 single-seater, or TF-51 dual-control versions. Because of that Flug Werk will commence the construction of the fuselages with a time-stagger approximately six months after the construction of the first wing panels.
We encourage seriously interested parties to contact our agents and inquire about the availability of these assemblies. Same as we did with the Fw 190, we have devised an incentive price schedule for the Mustang components, giving very attractive prices to the first five customers. The first set of wing panels is offered at US $ 90.000,- Each of the subsequent four wing-assemblies will increase in price by 10%, until the final salesprice of US $ 135.000,- has been met. In order to secure the manufacturing slot for one of these assemblies, we need a closed contract and a 50% downpayment. The first five wing-units will be equipped with ailerons and flaps and are built-up around the newly manufactured casting that receives the landing gear.
Flug Werk will publish photos of the structures as soon as they become available.
