Yes, thats true and they are only looking at pure aluminium, not aluminium alloys which are far more prone to corrosion. The trick is to use an agent to leach out the copper in the duralium which breaks the 'circuit' and stops the formation of HCl - that's why if you pull a wreck out of the sea leave it for a bit then start cleaning it you might get mild burns. (it happened to a friend of mine once - but never again!!)
