Hi There,
Just thought that I would let you know that there's a new harback out on the corsair by Martin Bowman "Vought F-4U Corsair" ... just got mine this afternoon. Although I haven't read it back-to-back yet, there appear to be a lot of interesting first hand annecdotes, as well as interesting details not commonly observed. The overwhelming majority of photographs are one's I have not seen before, and there are a lot of Royal Navy aircraft pictured which was very refreshing. However, there seems to be a dearth of content on the other non-US corsairs... again a real frustration with Corsair books! The picture reproductions are sometimes less than optimal as well, with moire patterns on some even, however, that said, it does represent a decent addition to the corsair lore from what I have scanned through so far, and is a must for any corsair addict, like me. That being said, when will there be a decent, English language, book on the French corsairs, and Latin American ones. There is a really detailed one (although of poor quality photographic content) on the Kiwi corsairs, although that subject too would make a decent reprise in print. Anyway, thought you'd like to hear about the new book.
Cheers,
Richard
