More Boeing propaganda...
===========================
Hawker de Havilland, a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, has a proud history spanning over 75 years at the leading edge of the Australian aerospace industry. Founded as de Havilland Australia in 1927 by the pioneering UK de Havilland aviation family, Hawker de Havilland is an integral part of Australia's aviation heritage, and the history of the company has intertwined with the history of the Royal Australian Air Force since that time.
Hawker de Havilland also has become the custodian of the heritage of two of the other major names of the local aviation industry - the Commonwealth Aircraft Corporation (CAC) and the Government Aircraft Factory (GAF). These two companies were formed to provide aircraft for the RAAF, and with de Havilland Australia, supplied over 4000 aircraft to the Australian Defence Force.
To mark the 75th year milestone, the RAAF Museum will feature a display of Hawker de Havilland aviation art beginning in late September. The exhibition pays tribute to the contribution of Hawker de Havilland in Australia and its achievements in the field of aircraft production and design since 1927. The exhibition will also incorporate present day and future activities.
Boeing purchased Hawker de Havilland in October 2000, combining the business with the already-owned ASTA Components. Based in Melbourne, Victoria, Hawker de Havilland has a global aerocomponents business, manufacturing parts for all major airframe manufacturers from sites at Fishermens Bend, Melbourne, and Bankstown, Sydney.
