Just brought Malta Flypast Vol 4 and their is an update on the Malta Aviation Musuem from 2001.. But for your interest...

"Completion of the Hurricane IIA is envisaged for mid-2002, after which it is hoped to convince Government's Museums Department to transfer the wingless Gloster Gladiator, at present housed in the War Museum in Valletta, to the Aviation Museum where a set of wings (actually two, one from Britain and one from Finland (I thought Norway sic)) awaits it for mating. The Gladiator, besides being at presently painted in a horrible manner and scheme, has been observed to be suffering from corrosion beneath its fabric covering. The MAMF has offered to restore it and display it along with the Spitfire and Hurricane to form the Air Defence of Malta section in the Museum. The rudder will have to be changed since at some time in the aircraft's display history the original had been changed into a wrongly shaped one."
