Aircraft battery...help req.

Hi all,
Since we have some knowledgable people among us, just thought I would ask if anyone could help me determine what aircraft these batteries I recently acquired, would be applicable to. Molded into the casing, is the following info (going from memory): R.A.F. Lead Acid Accumulator 12V 40A.H. The Air Ministry reference number is 5J/2284. Again, that's just from memory, but I'm fairly sure it's correct. Can anyone help out? Many thanks.
