I once started getting daily spam from a mortgage financing company and they had a clause at the bottom of the message where you could request to be removed.
After requesting to be removed, I continued to get daily spam from them and after several more days of this (and more requests) I decided to send my removal requests in multiples of 25. I think I recall that the last request I made was 125 simultaneous replies for one message. It was tedious, but VERY fun....;-) And it worked.
: Karen, it helps, when you go to any website, to leave a fa
: ke name (for example, my emails are not signed with my rea
: l name, and you can set this up from your web browser pref
: erences), this will not stop all the smut, but helps. Also
: , create in any of the free e-mail providers, one user id
: that you can use anywhere you go, and you only provide you
: r "real" identity to those you contact directly.
:
: As they say, never, ever, request to be removed from their
: mailing lists, since this just proves to them that you ar
: e reading their stuff, and they will keep sending it.
:
: Something I have done, and I don't know if it works well o
: r not, is to send them back their own e-mails. After a fas
: hion, they stop sending their stuff . . . for a while anyw
: ay.
:
: Good luck to you.
:
: Maybe one of the guys here, who is more knowledgeable will
: provide you with technical advise?
:
: Saludos!
