Hi Joe,
I thought it was pooch that was a delicacy there?
Approaches have been instigated on the subject of recovering aircraft from North Korea. I have been informed, that the Hawaii team are in country now, and expect to be in Choisin from Monday onwards.Separately to that, I am now talking to people representatives with that country. I can't go into more detail than that, not because I'm being especially mysterious, but because these things just take time, and as always , it is a delicate process. I have made a proposal to the said representatives, and it has not been rejected out of hand, but they do require clarification from their superiors.
I will be finding out from Hawaii, just what is in that area, at some point in the next 21 days.
At some point, sooner rather than later, I will be going to Pyongyang to sort this out, and to see what else can be seen. Mick, pack your winter Long Johns mate :0). I'd rather eat kimchee and rice, then aquire a business partner I don't want or need....
North Korea, is a very important area. People forget, that we did abandon aircraft on airfields after the end of the War, and to all intents and purposes, they may well be still there, I have seen a photograph, of a Corsair on a Korean airfield, used as a spares hulk and then abandoned. However, it's current status is unknown.
The area around Choisin, did see the forced landing of many close support aircraft, including Mustangs, Sea Furies, Corsairs , A26's and Spads, never mind what the other side lost.
So, as I find out more, so will u lot...
