The procedure following a prop strike of any description is to carry out a shock load test, using purpose designed equipment, which is usually detailed in the engine manual. This entails a visual inspection of the engine for cracks and damage and as has been mentioned, a run out check on the prop. shaft. If the run out check is satisfactory you can go fly, if not the reduction gear is removed for a run out check on the crankshaft. If that run out check is satisfactory the r/g is changed & you go fly. If not, its time to spend some $$$$$$$$.
