No points for wondering if I would react on your question.
I totally agree, even if it is not possible to restore the airframe (and it certainly is) then the least they could do is make sure she is roughly in the same state as when raised, meaning all perspex fitted, engines attached and cowlings fitted so that she at least resembles a living monument instead of a collection of parts on a pile of gravel.
Why can't they restore her one section at the time (as suggested at the time when the nose section was at Wyton), that way the visitors can also see how a complex WWII bombers looks like from the inside, how many sections it consisted of etc, and escpecially how it is restored the same way as the boys have done and are doing at Trenton (wish they update that site more often especially the photopage). Two flies with one stone if you ask me.
