: Picked this up from Dan Ford's Annals web site. Dan has be
: en tracking this Brewster ever since it came out of the Ru
: ssian Lake..
:
: "The latest rumor to have surfaced is that "a Brewster Buf
: falo that has been brought back to the US recently from Ru
: ssia" has been traded to the U.S. Navy for three P-3s. Tha
: t would almost certainly be BW-372.
: But P-3s? I thought that all the trade in warbirds involve
: d other warbirds--e.g., I'll take your Brewster Buffalo an
: d give you three Wildcats. "

The P-3s are probably much more valuable on the airplane market than three Wildcats from the Lake, which is all that the USNAM holds currently. A flying Lake Wildcat could be had for 850k, so a project is probably only worth 200k..

The P-3s are in hot demand by the fire bomber conversion companies, so therefore more valuable.
