Well both Spitfire Survivors around the world and BoB Then and Now say it was SL574 that forced landed on the Cricket Pitch in Bromley, Kent on Sept 20th 1959. Spitfire Survivors also says Pilot was AVM H J Maguire and the forced landing followed an engine failure. The cricket stumps destroyed were supposed to be mounted in a glass case and are held by Air Historical Branch!
OK. So who is going to tell the RAF that there web site is WRONG!
