Peter,
Your correct, we know that it was formerly based at 207 and 44 sqn but strangly flew no missions. With 300 sqn it had the codes BH-C. So far we identified the letter C.
The frustrating bit is that we know that we found DV286 (missing since 13 june 1944) but so far havn't got any evidence showing a serialnumber. We keep looking though but that's why we need to know more about possible areas where we might find a serialnumber other than the usual locations.
Reason for this is because the aircraft nosedived into the IJsselmeer (depth there 4 metres) and the wreckage (and I do mean wreckage) is completely buried in a thick layer of mud making things difficult.
