USAFM Hurricane not the real McCoy

A fellow Hurricane researcher here in Canada has reccently uncovered something rather interesting. It seems that the identity of the Hurricane at the USAF Museum is a phony.....they are calling it RCAF 5390, which ditched in the Pacific Ocean off Tofino on Vancouver Island. It sank and was not recovered according to the Court of Inquiry, etc.
It appears to be something made up from several airframes collected off farms by an American....perhaps from that large collection of Hurricanes in Ontario?? Doe anyone have any idea when and where the museum acquired this aircraft? Is this the aircraft that is currently on the Hawker Restorations website under a 'static' rebuild?
Any clues, be interested in hearing your comments
