Hi Kenneth,
That would be the dream of most of us Dutch enthusiasts, however there is a complete DXXI on display at Soesterberg, which is a reconstruction based upon newbuilt wooden wings by (then) Fokker and a steel fuselage frame copied from an original one loaned by the Danes. It is an impressive sight built to factory specifications, there is also a Fokker CX on rebuild which is progressing well albeit very slowly. And there is a organisation which has set themselves the task to construct a faithful reconstruction of a Fokker G-1 (that's the one you forgot). The drawings were all destroyed so they have to reconstruct these first before they can cut any wood or metal (wooden wings you know).
So things are happening here, only the Fokker TV, a twin engined bomber is missing the needed attention if you ask me.
Our own organisation have been hunting for the crashsite of a Fokker G-1 but so far we haven't been able to pinpoint the site yet. Our collegues CRASH based at Lisserbroek recovered a Fokker G-1 about a year ago and found some small but interesting items, they also found a T-V which also yielded some very interesting items and last but not least they recovered a substantial section of a Fokker DXXI of which they reconstructed the entire forward fuselage using the original bits and pieces. It is a magnificent display item and all Dutch aircraft being dug up have a 100% combat record.
Problem with the Dutch is (at least those in high places) that they throw everything away and when nothing is left they start thinking if they should have kept some.
If you look at the site of the NFLA: www.nfla.nl and scroll to the CRASH-page you could find some photo's of the DXXI.
A story that needs to be told in great detail if you ask me.
But I am biased of course.
Cees
