Yes, that would be the obvious reason. But why buying a project for a lot of money and then put it in storage as a result of lack of funds. Personally I wouldn't buy a project if I didn't (I don't) have the money to restore it properly.
Or would it a way of putting the airframe in store and they wait until the value has risen even more and they selling it at a profit.
I hope that is not the case because that would have a negative effect on the warbird business if you ask me. Look at the Buffalo for instance.
