Anyone else notice the huge jump in interest regarding the A-26 as of late? I think most every warbird magazine has published major articles on the type during the last few months, as well as general warbird news, and other sources. I frankly have a renewed vigor in my interest regarding the type.
A question while on the subject - Could the A-26 utilize the six-fifty's in the wings as well as the four underwing pods, or was it just one set or the other? I'm thinking they must have had their ammunition boxes in common. If indeed they could mount all fourteen wing guns plus the eight-gun nose AND both turrets, it would be amazing to see an A-26 on the flight line sporting 26 forward firing .50's! It would also be educational to see how much runway a plane fully-loaded in that configuration would eat up :)
