Hi,

I have been a Military spouse for 19 years, and when I forgot my I.D. I was not allowed on base. Even though I was with my husband, who showed his I.D., and I showed them my Driver's license, and we had a D.O.D. sticker on the van.. I had to sit on the curb and wait for him to take care of business. I spent the whole time giving the guard dirty looks!;-)

If memory serves, from my Minot, ND, AFB, days, Fargo is also a SAC base. They are very strict!!!! I'm suprised they were polite. They will usually chase you off quickly.

Here in PA, the National Guard bases are on as high of alert as Active duty bases. Security remains very high. This is not likely to change anytime soon. Your best bet is make friends with a service person. My husband had no problems photographing the static displays at Lackland AFB, a few months ago.

Good luck!
Karen
