Re the question of the Mt. Stanley Buffalo I visited the site a couple of years ago and can confirm that there is nothing left there that wouldn't fit in your back pocket. It is reasonably accessible and from the day of the crash, people found it easy to take items from the mountain. I suspect there are pieces of it in sheds all over Victoria, mindful too that the aircraft hit a section of solid rock at cruise speed so it was 'challenged' from day one. The largest known chunks of this aircraft are however stored at Sonoma with the remains of a second ex-NEIAF Buffalo and parts of others including an undercarriage assembly from the RAAF Museum. The owner thought he'd do the right thing and offer it to the Dutch however the museum there has displayed a Darwinian level of stupidity in regards acquiring the wreckage of two of their Buffalos. It can be assumed they don't really want it very badly.
Cheers for now, Graham
