Myself and the Mickster had several very long talks about this subject. It was one of Mick's favourites.

The final thing we came up with, was a proper theme flight.

Bearing in mind Sally B's precarious financial position, it had to be a high value proposal, as the running costs I believe, are some 120,000 GBP per year.

So, the idea was, 8 people flew, as a wartime bomber crew, over a 4 day period.

2 days being spent in training and indoctrination, safety drills , position responsibilities, living and working just like an 8th AF crew. Said crew were then kitted out with appropriate clothing, some of which they could keep. Sally then made a trip under wartime conditions, to an island off Texel, to perform a bombing run. We wanted to add smoke pots to Sally, and attacks by Harvards etc, b4 the cavalry finally arrived, in the shape of Spits/Mustangs, to escort her home. There were some other things we suggested, but I think you get the gist.

Price per person, around 5,000 US per 4 day stay, so Sally needed around 8 trips like this a year to cover her running costs, and the costs of the escorts, enemy etc.

It was a fun thing to plan.........
